email notification does not seem to work?

hi. i have a correct email shown in my Settings for this account. someone replied to a post i had set to get instant email notification, but i never got one, even in my Spam folder. i'm using gmail. has this happened to anyone else? is there any way to fix it? it would encourage me to use the forums if it would work.

I dont see any emails send nor any error messages regarding your email ?

I can't check my settings to see if notifications are off because I can't remember the password. I have tried all of my combinations but none work. Luckily my IE has that stored and accesses the torrents. But I can't get the system to email me.
I tried to create a new account but GT did not send a confirmation email.

Your reply is a bit ambiguous to me. Do you mean that silph did not have email notification enabled in his account settings? Or that email notification was not enabled system wide?

When silph originally asked the question, it struck me that I had checked that option a long time ago and never have had it work. I looked at my settings yesterday; the option for email notification was still selected but I turned it off and then on again just to give it a fresh chance. Then I went elsewhere and replied to some other thread. And there's been no email notice.

Maybe I don't understand all that's supposed to happen.

As far as i could tell he had no email notifications enabled.
We have to make a test here where i can check on the server and on the software if the emails get out or
not and what happens when they are not send ;)

Though the list of subscriptions on my settings page shows that your message of about four hours ago had Instant notification, I didn't get anything.

I think the only time I get email notification about anything is when Irrumator sometimes does some sort of action in the moderators/administrators private area. And I've never figured out exactly what gets notified there...

I turned on notifications for my subscribed threads and did receive email notifications. After checking the boxes next to the threads you select, remember to scroll down to "Selected threads", choose the appropriate manner and click "Go".
